of is multiplied by
of is multiplied byThis strict definition applies to English writing, as well as to science and mathematics.
In Metachemics, I have been trying to be conscientious about limiting my use of...(note the error!)
...about limiting my using "of" when it does not substitute for "multiplied by". However, it can be difficult mostly because English writing does not always accommodate that strict definition.
Tonight, I went through my blog and looked for "of" errors to correct. The following are some important ones:
Time Change was the synchronized progression of universal events
Time Change is synchronized universal events progression
The Universal Law was that the laws of physics are the same everywhere in The Universe
The Universal Law is that physics laws are the same everywhere in The Universe
Electricity was (2)(Mass)
{where Mass is a natural number and every two light units combine into the form of one electron}
Electricity is (2)(Mass)
{where Mass is a natural number and every two light units combine as one electron}
In some instances, "of" in Metachemics is appropriate. These cases are always where "of" translates to "multiplied by". For example, in my blog: "One Light Motion Defined", the final equation multiplies the terms: The Square Root Rate and Lightspeed
Finally, despite what I am advocating here--that being a mathematical rule expansion into English, I still intend to sign my science blogs, "Father of Metachemics". I have no children--so if I am a "Father" multiplied by "Metachemics", this blog can be seen as my baby.
